How this is built
When you describe what you need, the search finds consultants whose own websites match it, then shows you the exact line from their site. It runs on Cloudflare and costs about nothing to run.
What happens when you search
- Your question goes to a small program on Cloudflare Workers.
- Workers AI turns your question into a list of numbers that captures its meaning.
- Vectorize compares those numbers with 1,052 pieces of text taken from the consultants' own websites, and finds the closest ones in your city.
- The Worker picks the best piece per consultant and the sentence that matches your words best.
- You see the 3 to 5 best matches, each with a quote and a link to the page it came from.
No AI writes the answers. Every line you see is quoted from the consultant's own site, so nothing is made up.
What keeps it current
Once a week, a program checks every listed website, copies the text of its key pages (home, services, about, pricing) and updates the search. It skips any site that asks crawlers not to visit.
What each Cloudflare product does
- Workers: serves the pages and runs the search.
- Workers AI (bge-base-en-v1.5): turns text into meaning numbers.
- Vectorize: finds the closest matches, filtered by city.
- AI Gateway: sits in front of Workers AI for caching and logs.
- D1: stores page visits and the daily search count.
How the cost stays near zero
- 96 consultants and 1,052 text pieces fit well inside Cloudflare's free monthly amounts.
- Short searches use a plain word filter in your browser, which costs nothing.
- Each visitor gets up to 10 smart searches a minute, and the whole site 200 a day. After that it falls back to the word filter.
- Automated visitors skip the AI step entirely.
